Second Downtown "Precise Plan" Workshop This Thursday
Redwood City, CA - June 15, 2004 - The public is invited to be a part of building the future of Downtown Redwood City by participating in the Downtown Precise Plan. Downtown residents and employees, business owners, property owners, and anyone interested in helping to create the Downtown community should attend the second Downtown Precise Plan Workshop this Thursday, June 17th beginning at 6:30 pm at Forester's Hall, 1204 Middlefield Road . Refreshments will be served.
The Downtown Precise Plan is a planning document that will answer questions such as:
- What kind of shops and restaurants do you want to see Downtown?
- What should Downtown's streets look and feel like?
- What kind of attractions would motivate you to hang out in Downtown more often?
- What would make Downtown a fun place to live?
This workshop promises to be engaging, interactive, and productive as the City works with the community to create the Downtown Precise Plan. It's a wonderful opportunity to get involved in answering the questions above, which will help to create the rules and regulations that will guide Downtown development over the next 10 years.
A precise plan outlines the urban design guidelines and principles for future development of a particular area of the City, in this case Downtown. Such a plan is specific to an identified area, and includes community input and planning commission review and recommendation before going to the City Council for consideration and approval. The end result serves as an overall blueprint for that specific area - a precise plan for how development will occur.
