Redwood City Council to Consider 13 Applicants for Filling Vacant Seat
Redwood City, CA - January 5, 2005
- A total of 13 people have submitted letters of intent to Redwood City, seeking appointment to the City Council to fill the seat made available by the departure of Ira Ruskin. The Council is expected to hear presentations from the applicants at its meeting of January 24th, and make an appointment either that night or at a special meeting by the end of January.

The person appointed will serve on the Council until the November 2005 general election, at which time the seat will be open for special election to fill the remainder of the unexpired term. The Council seat was vacated upon the election of former Council member Ira Ruskin to the State Assembly, District 21, where he now serves.
