Redwood Shores Lagoon Bank Policy
and Construction Guidelines |
|
The City of Redwood
City has developed a policy to address the issue of new construction
(including maintenance/repair of existing improvements) which
may affect the stability of the slopes on the interior waterways
in Redwood Shores.
The policy seeks to provide clear guidelines for shoreline
improvements so that the combined effect of continued modifications
to the shoreline are controlled. Without guidelines, continued
construction has the potential to create severe adverse impacts
on the lagoon bank, water quality, health and safety, and
the aesthetic quality of the surrounding community.
On Monday, July 24, 2006 the City Council adopted the Redwood
Shores Lagoon Bank Policy and Construction Guidelines as
it applies to new construction and/or the maintenance and
repair of existing permitted construction. Visit the link
below for information on the approved policy.
City Staff is still undergoing discussion and site analysis
with respect to the existing nonconforming construction on
waterfront properties within Redwood Shores. This item will
return to the City Council at a later date for further consideration.
Notices for the public hearing will be sent to interest parties
at least 10 days prior to the hearing date. Questions on
this issue, and comments on the proposed policy, may be emailed
to lagoon-bank@redwoodcity.org. You may also contact the
City’s planning division at 780-7234.
