Park Improvement Projects

The City of Redwood City recognizes the importance that parks play in people’s lives.  Parks provide:

  • Access to the serenity and inspiration of nature
  • Outdoor space to play and exercise
  • A place for self-directed and organized recreation
  • Positive alternatives
  • Activities that facilitate social connections and human development

Parks enrich our lives, they add value to our homes and neighborhoods, and help connect the entire community.  The following are investments that City is making to reach that end:

IN PROGRESS
WORK HAS BEGUN! Immediate neighbors (within 400 feet of the park) were notified by door hangers; RSCA put information on their website; there are signs on site, and there will be a notice in the upcoming Pilot. We’re excited for the improved playground structure, new amenities, and a new tot lot. Stay tuned for progress updates!

Mezes Park & Jardin de Niños
IN PROGRESS

Plans for both the Mezes Park and Jardin de Niños Park renovations are being put together by RHAA (Landscape Architecture firm). The Civic Cultural Commission also voted to include a bird bath as part of the Jardin de Ninos improvements and we will be going before Council in the future regarding this proposal.
