1. The First Library Redwood City's first library was a reading room, set up in 1865 by local residents on the second floor of the Times-Gazette newspaper building on Main Street. During the next forty years, the reading room was moved to wherever space was available including James Van Court's photography studio. This photo was taken sometime in the 1870's after the library was relocated. |
