Welcome to the City Attorney Office Mission To provide legal representation and advice to the City Council, City Manager and City departments so that they may lawfully attain the City's goals and minimize risk to the City. "The City Attorney's Office" The City Attorney is the chief legal officer of the City itself acting through its highest authorized officer or body overseeing a particular matter. This is generally the City Council, City Manager, or a department head, depending on the issue. The City Attorney's Department also acts as counsel to the RDA Successor Agency and serves as the Port Attorney.
