As of February 9, 2012 the Public Works Services Department became part of the Community Development Department (CDD), overseen by CDD Director Bill Ekern.

Planning

  • Planning permits and entitlements
  • Redwood City’s New General Plan

Public Works

  • Water, sewer, street and tree services
  • Programs, projects and reports

Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency

  • Effective February 1, 2012, all redevelopment agencies in the State of California were dissolved pursuant to AB 1X 26. The City of Redwood City elected to become the Successor Agency and the Housing Successor Agency to the Redwood City Redevelopment Agency to manage the dissolution and wind down of Agency related business.

Transportation

  • Transportation, including transportation networks, downtown parking, and Complete Streets (streets for all users – pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and motorists)
