Redwood City’s Community Development Services Department has transitioned into two new departments.
BIT: Building, Infrastructure & Transportation
- Building applications and permits
- Code enforcement and building inspections
- Engineering and master plans for roads, bridges, highway overpasses, buildings, parks, levees, lagoons, and water/sewer/storm/recycled water facilities and pipelines
- Transportation, including transportation networks, downtown parking, and Complete Streets (streets for all users – pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and motorists)
PHED: Planning, Housing & Economic Development
- Planning permits and entitlements
- Redwood City’s New General Plan
- Housing, including market rate housing and affordable residential units
- Community Development Block Grant and Home Improvement Loan programs
- Redwood City’s business environment
- Redevelopment programs and projects
