Redwood City’s Building, Infrastructure & Transportation Department and its Planning & Housing Department have consolidated into one new department, the Community Development Department.

- Code enforcement and building inspections

- Engineering and master plans for roads, bridges, highway overpasses, buildings, parks, levees, lagoons, and water/sewer/storm/recycled water facilities and pipelines
Transportation
- Transportation, including transportation networks, downtown parking, and Complete Streets (streets for all users – pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and motorists)

- Planning permits and entitlements
