Code of Redwood City
Pursuant to Section 50022.1, et seq., of the Government Code
and Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City,
the following codes, standards and regulations are hereby
adopted and shall be in effect within the City to the same
extent as if set out in full herein, except as expressly amended
by the provisions of this Article:
The Uniform Building Code, Volumes 1, 2, and 3,1997
Edition, as published by the International Conference
of Building Officials. Appendix to Chapter 3, Division II;
Chapter 4, Division I, Chapter 15, Chapter 18, Chapter 31,
Divisions II and Ill, Chapter 33, and Chapter 34, Division
III, are specifically adopted and shall be enforceable to
the same extent as if contained in the body of this Code.
The remainder of the Appendix is not adopted and shall not
be a part of this Code.
The Uniform Mechanical Code, 2000 Edition,
as published by the International Association of Plumbing
and Mechanical Officials is hereby adopted and shall be in
effect within the City of Redwood City to the same extent
as if set out in full herein except as expressly amended by
the provisions of this Article.
The Uniform Plumbing Code, 2000 Edition,
as published by the International Association of Plumbing
and Mechanical Officials is hereby adopted and shall be in
effect within the City of Redwood City to the same extent
as if set out in full herein except as expressly amended by
the provisions of this article. Appendices A, B, D, H, I,
J, K, and L thereto are specifically adopted and shall be
enforceable to the same extent as if contained in the body
of said code.
The National Electrical Code, 1999 Edition,
as published by the National Fire Protection Association,
and the Uniform Administrative Code Provisions for the National
Electrical Code, 1996 Edition, as published by the International
Conference of Building Officials, are hereby adopted and shall
be in effect within the City of Redwood City to the same extent
as if set out in full herein except as expressly amended by
the provisions of this Article. (Superceded by the State
of California adoption of the National Electrical
Code, 2002 Edition as of August 1, 2005)
The Uniform Building Security Code, 1997 Edition,
as published by the International Conference of Building Officials.
The Uniform Code for Building Conservation, 1997
Edition, as published by the International Conference
of Building Officials.
In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the
Uniform Building Code, 1997 Edition, hereinafter referred
to as the Building Code, the Uniform Building Security Code
and/or the Uniform Code for Building Conservation and the
provisions of this Chapter, the provisions of this Chapter

In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the
Uniform Mechanical Code, 2000 Edition, hereinafter referred
to as the Mechanical Code, and the provisions of this Chapter,
the provisions of this Chapter shall apply. (Ord. No. 2241,

In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the
Uniform Plumbing Code, 2000 Edition, hereinafter referred
to as the Plumbing Code, and the provisions of this Chapter,
the provisions of this Chapter shall apply. (Ord. No. 2241,

In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the
provisions of the National Electrical Code, 1999 Edition,
hereinafter referred to as the Electrical Code, or the Uniform
Administrative Code Provisions for the National Electrical
Code, 1996 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the Administrative
Provisions, and the provisions of this Chapter, the requirement
which prescribes and establishes the higher standard of safety
shall apply unless otherwise stated in this Article. (Ord.
