To know the status of your building permit, you can go to E-TrakIt, our online permit system, or call our main phone line, 780-7350.

To schedule a building inspection, you can go to E-TrakIt, our online permit system, call 780.7361 or come in to City Hall to speak with someone at the Counter Services.

To get permit history, you can go to E-TrakIt, our online permit system, call 780-7350 or come in to Counter Services at City Hall. You search may require searching through the Microfiche records at Maps & Records Counter Services.

How do I schedule a One Stop appointment?

 

To schedule a One Stop appointment, call 780.7350.
One Stop appointments are every half-hour between 2-4pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.

The City of Redwood City enforces the 2007 California Building Codes, based upon the following Model Codes:

  • 2007 California Building Code
  • 2007 California Mechanical Code
  • 2007 California Plumbing Code
  • 2007 California Electrical Code
  • 2007 California Fire Code

Our adopting Ordinance and revisions of the Codes are available on our Building Codes page.

There are several ways to look up Building Codes. You can:

  • Purchase the Building Code Booklet by visiting www.iccsafe.org, www.iapmo.org, or www.nfpa.org
  • Visit City Hall and look at our reference only booklet
  • Visit the main library
