Welcome to Engineering and Construction
Engineering and Construction plans, designs and manages (in
conjunction with other City operating departments) the rehabilitation
and enhancement of the City's infrastructure and public facilities
which include:
- City Buildings & Parks
- Streets, Sidewalks, Bridges & Levees
- Streetlights & Traffic Signal Systems
- Water, Sewer & Storm Drainage Systems
- Information and guidance to property owners and the general
public is also provided.
- Review and conditional approval of all subdivisions and
land development projects is provided to the development
community.
- Engineering and Construction also maintains extensive
municipal engineering records.
- Local and regional traffic engineering and transportation
planning expertise is provided.
- Engineering and Construction prepares and monitors the
Five-Year Capital Improvement Program.
The emphasis for FY 2004/05 includes:
- Downtown Parking Structure
- Support for the Recycled Water Program
- Construction of the Ralston Avenue Interchange

- Park Facility Improvements (Garrett Park)
- Water, Sewer & Storm Pipes Replacements
- Pump Station Upgrades
- Remodel of Community Activity Buildings
- Redwood Shores Lagoon Circulation Study
- Fifth Ave S.D. Pump Station Upgrade/Bayfront Canal Studies
- Schaberg Library Renovation
- Ralston Alley Improvements
