Redwood City Parking Goes High Tech!
You may have noticed new machines have been installed around the heart of Downtown. The City of Redwood City is proud to introduce our new "Pay-By-Space" parking meters. These meters will make parking in Downtown Redwood City much more convenient.
They are easy to use. Here's how they work:
Note your space number (located on the curb for on-street parking or at the rear of the stall for parking lots).
- Enter your stall number.
- Pay and go!
These new meters add much convenience to your parking experience. For example:
- No time limits! Pay for as much time as you need. We won't chalk your tires and we won't force you to move your car before you're done shopping or eating. Stay for desert!
- No more fumbling for change! Pay with coin or credit card. Credit card transactions are quick and safe. If you prefer to pay with paper money, simply look for the green meters and pay there.
- Pay with your cell phone! Once you set up an account you don't even have to visit a meter anymore. And when your time is almost up you'll receive a reminder call!
- Add time from anywhere. Did a fun night on the town take you blocks away from your car? No worries! Rather than walking all the way back to your car to add more time, just add more time from the nearest Pay-By-Space meter and continue your fun.
- Don't display your receipt. Some multi-space meters require you to walk all the way back to your car to display your receipt on your dashboard, but we do not. Just pay and go. Your receipt is strictly for your convenience.
Here is some more information about the new parking system...
