Hoover Area Study: Linking Your
Neighborhood
The Redevelopment Agency of Redwood City is embarking on
a neighborhood mobility study called “Hoover Area Connection:
Linking for Your Neighborhood.” This study aims to enable
residents in the Hoover area (portions of Stambaugh-Heller
and Redwood Village neighborhoods) to determine the solutions
to improve their ability to walk and bicycle safely and easily
to school, work, shopping, and services.
Over the past year, a number of community and stakeholder
meetings were held, both in English and Spanish within the
Study Area to engage residents and community members in the
development of strategies to improve the safety and ease of
walking, bicycling and taking public transit.
Redwood City received a $153,000 planning grant from Caltrans
and $17,000 in-kind and cash funding from the Redwood City
Redevelopment Agency for this study to help improve pedestrian
and bicycle mobility and safety.
The final report, titled “Hoover Area Study: Linking
for Your Neighborhood” will be available on the City’s
website in January 2009.
