Call For Artists - G.R. Cress Bird Bath Fund
Project Details
The Redwood City
Civic Cultural Commission is seeking artists to design,
build, and install artistic bird baths in Redwood City. Yes,
bird baths! The bird bath theme is open to interpretation
and can range from traditional fountains to large scale contemporary
installations, with a focus on creativity. This can include,
but is not limited to, artists who work with concrete, stone,
mosaics, metal, glass, light, sound, and mixed media. The
artwork can be of any scale, but must provide water to birds.
Sites for the works will be presented to particular artists
based on the submission.
Artist Eligibility & Deadlines
Open to all artists. Submissions must
be received no later than October 1st, 2007 to be considered
for projects funded in 2008.
Selection Process
The public art subcommittee of the Redwood City Civic Cultural
Commission will review submissions and recommend particular
works to be approved by the Civic Cultural Commission and
appropriate Redwood City departments. Artists who are selected
will then enter into an agreement with Redwood City for fabrication
and ownership of the artwork. Honorariums will be awarded
to artists whose works are selected and approved.
