Planning Commission

Housing and Human Concerns Committee
- Five 4-year terms, expiring May 31, 2010
Home Improvement Loan Committee
- Three 3-year terms, expiring May 31, 2009
Historic Resources Advisory Committee
- Two 3-year terms, expiring July 31, 2009
Appointments to this committee are made by the Planning Commission
Senior Affairs Commission
- Three 4-year terms, expiring May 31, 2010
Civic Cultural Commission
- Three 4-year terms, expiring May 31, 2010
Board of Building Review
Two 4-year terms, expiring May 31, 2010
Parks and Recreation Commission
- Four 4-year terms, expiring May 31, 2010

The City Council is accepting applications for the above Boards, Committees and Commissions. The Planning Commission will appoint the Historic Resources Advisory Committee members.
The basic requirements are that applicants have an interest in civic and community improvement, are 18 years of age or older, are a United States citizen, and are a resident of in corporated Redwood City (some board or commission positions may have additional requirements or preferred areas of expertise).
Applications and descriptions of the duties of the specific boards, committees and commissions are available in the City's libraries, recreation and community centers, the Veterans Memorial Senior Center, the City Clerk Department in City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road, phone 780-7220 and on the City's website.
Interviews with the City Council for the positions are expected in April 2006. Appointments will be made at a regular Council Meeting yet to be determined. THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATIONS IS 5:00 P.M., FRIDAY, MARCH 17, 2006.
