5. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR
This agenda item affords members of the public the opportunity to directly address the City Council on any subject relating to the City Council which is not on the agenda or any item within the Consent Calendar. If the subject you wish to address is not on the agenda, please understand that the Brown Act (Open Meeting Law) precludes the Council from taking any action at this time. All items within the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and the City Council will waive the reading of the Consent Calendar (except the title of any ordinances) and adopt all resolutions and ordinances, and approve other items by one motion and one vote. The total time allocated to this agenda item is within the discretion of the Mayor, but is generally limited to 15 minutes.

Redwood City Recycled Water Project – Year Two Program Management Resources

2. By Motion, approve Amendment No. 1 to the professional services agreement with Data Instincts for public information and outreach services – Year Two, and authorize the City Manager to sign agreement amendment.

Redwood City Recycled Water Project

Redwood City Recycled Water Project – Production and Delivery of Recyled Water (Dual Media Filter (DMF) Modifications)

Recommendations:

1. Approve the award of contract by the South Bayside System Authority (SBSA) Commission for the Redwood City Recycled Water Project, Phase 1 – SBSA Facilities Project – Dual Media Filter (DMF) Modifications Project.


2. Request that the SBSA Commission award the above-mentioned contract to the lowest responsible bidder, D.W. Nicholson Corporation of Hayward, California, for their low bid of $2,751,000.00, pursuant to the approved Agreement for Produciton and Delivery of Recycled Water (“Agreement”) between SBSA and the City of Redwood City, and request that the SBSA Commission and staff enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the low bidder to reduce the final cost of the project.

Request that the SBSA Commission award the above-mentioned contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Stoloski & Gonzalez, Inc. of Half Moon Bay, CA for their low bid of $600,665.00, pursuant to the approved Agreement for Production and Delivery of Recycled Water (“Agreement”) between SBSA and the City of Redwood City.

Design of Sports Field Synthetic Turf Conversion Project, pursuant to Recycled
Water Project Alternative ‘TF’, as recommended by the Community Task Force on Recycled Water.

Downtown Precise Plan – Third City Council, Planning Commission and Architectural Review Committee Joint Study Session

This is the third study session on the Downtown Precise Plan. The earlier meetings were held on June 13 and August 8, 2005. The original intention had been to use this August 22, 2005 meeting to discuss Infrastructure: Parking; Transportation – vehicular transportation and transit facilities.
