6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR - CITY COUNCIL/REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY

Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the City Council/Redevelopment Agency and will be enacted by one motion and one vote. The Consent Calendar category is limited to 15 minutes of comment to be allocated as determined by the Mayor. If you wish to speak to items on the Consent Calendar, please complete a speaker's card and give to Council Assistant.

MOTION: waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items.

That the City Council approve a lease with Nextel of California, Inc. (doing business as Nextel Communications) for a communication facility at City-owned property on California Way.

Final Acceptance – Procuring & Installing Parking Control System Project

Storm Drains Utility System Pumps and Pump Motor Repair

Sole Source Professional Services Agreement for Pump & Pump Motor Repair Services – Sanitary Sewer System ITT Flygt Submersible Pumps

By motion, authorize an Agreement with ITT Industries of Fairfield, CA in the amount of $66,450.00 for preventative maintenance and repair services of various sized ITT Flygt submersible sewage pumps.

Purchase vacant property at 777 Bradford Street for development of an affordable senior housing project and possible childcare facility.

Recommendation:
1. By motion, authorize the Executive Director to execute purchase and sale agreement between Richard Gardella and Agency to purchase Bradford Street Assessor’s Parcel Number 052-372-170 for $1.2 million plus Agency’s share of the closing costs;
2. By motion, approve the following appropriations to fund the purchase transaction:
a. $204,319.24 from CDGB Fiscal Year 2006/07 funds
b. $322,579.51 from HOME Fiscal Year 2006/07 funds
c. $175,000.00 from RDA Capital Fiscal Year 2006/07 funds
d. $150,000.00 from 1991 Bond Proceeds Fiscal Year 2006/07
e. $353,101.25 from housing set-aside funds allocated in the Redevelopment Agency’s Fiscal Year 2005/06 Housing Capital Budget

Tire Derived Products Grant Application

1. By Motion, approve the submission of a Tire-Derived Product (TDP) Grant Program Application for the Tree Preservation and Sidewalk Repair Program in the amount of $45,415.00, and designate the Public Works Services Director as the authorized representative for the City to sign the Grant Application.
2. Adopt the resolution authorizing the City to participate in the Tire-Derived Products Grant Program.

A.

Contract amendment between the City of Redwood City and the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) to provide Fourth Level of 1959 Survivor Benefits for members of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2400.

Recommendation:
1. The City Council adopt a Resolution of Intention to amend the contract with CalPERS to provide Government Code, Section 21574 – Fourth Level of 1959 Survivor Benefits for members of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2400.
2. The City Council Introduce the Ordinance approving and authorizing the contract amendment with CalPERS to provide Government Code, Section 21574 – Fourth Level of 1959 Survivor Benefits for members of International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2400 effective January 22, 2007.
3. The City Council direct staff to return to Council with the appropriate budget adjustment for Fiscal Year 06/07.
