Amendment No. 2 to the Cooperative Agreement with the Department of Transportation for the Route 101 at Ralston/Marine Parkway Interchange Project

Recommendation:
Approve, by motion, Amendment No. 2 to the Cooperative Agreement with the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) for the construction of the Route 101/Ralston Avenue/Marine Parkway Interchange Reconfiguration Project, and authorize the City Manager to execute the same.

Lease Agreement for Communication Site at 1000 Radio Road

Recommendation:
Approve a lease agreement with MetroPCS California to install wireless telecommunication devices and antennas on the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) tower at 1000 Radio Road. The tower sits on a parcel owned by the City which is subject to an easement in favor of PG&E.

Approve by motion the purchase of one 10-ton telescopic crane truck in the amount of $213,900.96, from Coast Crane of San Leandro, CA.

In an amount not to exceed $973,100.00, and authorize the City Manager to execute same.

Five-year agreement to continue providing information technology services to the City of Burlingame

Approve by motion the five-year agreement to provide information technology services to the City of Burlingame and authorize the City Manager to sign the agreement under which Redwood City will provide information technology services to Burlingame between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2012.

Agreement between the County of San Mateo and the City of Redwood City for Fire Protection Services.

Recommendation:
Approve by motion a new fifteen-year agreement (July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2022) between the County of San Mateo and the City of Redwood City for Fire Protection Services for Fire Protection Sub-Zone of San Mateo County Service Area No. 8 (CSA-8). CSA-8 is located in the unincorporated area of North Fair Oaks. Fire protection services include response and prevention activities.

I.

Agreement Designating San Mateo Community College District as Lead Agency for Canada College Faculty/Staff Housing Project

Recommendation:
Approve by motion an agreement designating the San Mateo Community College District as Lead Agency for the purpose of conducting environmental review of their proposed faculty/staff housing project at the Canada College campus in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) (Attachment 1). The City of Redwood City, as well as the Town of Woodside and the San Mateo County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) will act as Responsible Agencies.

Rejection of Bids – Lakeview Pump Stations Improvements Project

Final Acceptance – California Marina Subdivision

Final Acceptance of Downtown Retail-Cinema Streetscape Improvements – City Council/Redevelopment Agency Board

Consolidated General Municipal Election to be held on November 6, 2007, Candidate’s Statement and Related Matters

Recommendation
Adopt resolutions calling the November 6, 2007 General Municipal Election;

(1.) Resolution calling General Municipal Election and requesting Board of Supervisors, County of San Mateo, to consolidate general municipal election of the City of Redwood City with the School District Election and all other local elections to be held on November 6, 2007.
(2.) Resolution authorizing execution of the contract with the County of San Mateo for certain election services relating to Consolidated General Municipal Elections.
(3.) Motion to require a deposit of $500.00 for a candidate’s statement to be translated and printed in English, Chinese and Spanish as required under Section 203 of the Federal Voting Rights Act, 42 U.S.C. 1973aa-1a Section 203. All amounts are to cover actual estimated costs.
