It is recommended that the City Council introduce an ordinance approving a second amendment to the franchise agreement with Astound Broadband (formerly RCN Telecom Services) for the primary purpose of permitting Astound Broadband to itemize the fees for the support of the public, educational, and governmental access channel.

1. Adopt a resolution approving the solid waste, recyclable materials, and organic materials collection services outlined in the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (sbwma) August 2, 2007 draft RFP for collection services;

RESOLUTION COMMITTING TO THE SOUTH BAYSIDE WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY (SBWMA) REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) PROCESS AND APPROVING THE SBWMA RECOMMENDED CORE SERVICE PACKAGE OFFER TO MANAGE CONTRACTOR SELECTION PROCESS

2. Approve the contract terms detailed in he SBWMA’s August 2, 2007 draft uniform franchise agreement for solid waste, recyclable materials, and organic materials collection services;

3. Approve the scope of services in the SBWMA’s August 2, 2008 draft RFP for the operation of the Shoreway Recycling and Disposal Center (SRDC);

4. Approve the contract terms in the SBWMA’s August 2, 2007 draft agreement for the operation of the SRDC; and

5. Acknowledge receipt of the report on the proposed renovation and expansion of the SRDC.
