CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
November 26, 2007
7:00 P.M.

**A reception in honor of the newly reelected Council Members Alicia C. Aguirre, Ian Bain, Rosanne Foust, and Barbara Pierce will be held in the City Hall foyer at 8:15 p.m. or the close of the Regular City Council meeting.**

PLEASE TURN OFF ALL ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT SUCH AS CELLULAR TELEPHONES AND PAGERS, SO AS TO NOT DISTURB THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS.

*ATTENTION SPEAKERS: If you wish to address the City Council, please complete a speaker’s card (next to agendas) and give it to the Council Assistant (seated to the left of the Council).
By submitting the speaker’s card, the Mayor will recognize you at the appropriate time. In order to afford all members of the public the opportunity to address the City Council, each speaker will be provided 3 minutes.

Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the City Council will be enacted by one motion and one vote. The Consent Calendar category is limited to 15 minutes of comment to be allocated as determined by the Mayor. If you wish to speak to items on the Consent Calendar, please complete a speaker's card and give it to the Council Assistant.

MOTION: waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items.

Parking during the Hometown Holidays event

Recommendation:
Approve, by motion, the suspension of parking meter rates in the Downtown area on December 1, 2007.

7. CITY COUNCIL RE-ORGANIZATION

A.

Results of November 6, 2007 Consolidated General Municipal Election

Recommendation:

1. Adopt a resolution declaring Canvass of Returns and Results of General Municipal Election held on November 6, 2007.

RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE CONSOLIDATED GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 6, 2007 DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW

2. Direct the City Clerk to submit the amended ratified sections of the City Charter to the Secretary of State and file a copy with the County Recorder, pursuant to Government Code 34459, 34460 and Elections Code Section 9269.

11. ADJOURNMENT: MOTION TO ADJOURN TO A RECEPTION IN HONOR OF NEWLY REELECTED COUNCIL MEMBERS AND NEWLY SELECTED MAYOR AND VICE MAYOR UNTIL THE NEXT COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 10, 2007;
