Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine
by the City Council/Redevelopment Agency Board will be enacted
by one motion and one vote. The Consent Calendar category
is limited to 15 minutes of comment to be allocated as determined
by the Mayor/Chair. If you wish to speak to items on the Consent
Calendar, please complete a speaker's card and give it to
the Council Assistant.
MOTION: waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the
ordinances by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances,
and approve other items.

Recommendation:

the contact person.

Solid Waste Collections Rate Increase

Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Council approve by resolution
a 5% increase in the overall revenue requirement for
Allied Waste Industries, the City’s franchised
waste hauler, effective February 12, 2008 and approve
the implementation of a progressive rate structure for
commercial subscribers. For typical residential customers
who have one 32-gallon container picked up once a week,
the increase will amount to $0.19 per month.

amount of $3,036 to the approved FY2007-08 Police Department
Operating Budget.
