City Talk Toastmasters

What is City Talk Toastmasters?
A group that gets together weekly to improve public speaking and leadership skills, using the materials and processes of Toastmasters International. Toastmasters International is an organization that has been around for decades and helped over five million people worldwide become better, and less nervous, communicators.

When does City Talk Toastmasters meet?
Every Wednesday from 12:30 – 1:30 in City Hall.

What happens at a meeting?
At each meeting, you’ll hear…

  • 1-2 prepared short speeches, and evaluations of those speeches
  • 3-5 impromptu speeches (where questions are posed and lucky “victims” are selected to respond)
  • A word of the day to help expand your vocabulary
  • Lots of laughter, applause, and support

How can I participate?

  • Become a Club member – attend meetings on a regular basis and take on assigned roles during meetings (you can also be a Club member who isn’t included on the role assignment rotation)
  • Attend a meeting as a guest – come observe (and possibly be called upon as an impromptu speaker, if you’re willing!)
