Traveling Storytime | Project Read | Library Foundation | Teen Volunteers | Friends of the Library| Special Needs

Join Traveling Storytime and read to preschoolers each week at a Redwood City preschool or home day care. Only 30 minutes a week will make a huge difference in a child's life.
In 2008, the Traveling Storytime Program celebrated the milestone of having read to 100,000 children since it began in 2001. The program was honored with a City Council Proclamation letter, presented by Mayor Rosanne Foust, honoring the volunteers for their, "exemplary and tireless efforts to enhance literacy in our community".

The Friends of the Redwood City Public Library is made up of people like YOU who are committed to furthering the excellence of the Redwood City Public Library! We raise funds solely to benefit
the library and make significant
gifts to expand library collections,
programs and services. We accept
book donations and run a book
store in the Main library. The
Friends
also volunteer for many library
support services. Call 650-780-7050
to get more information about
joining and volunteer opportunities.
Donations
The Friends operates a resale book store inside the Main Library to generate funds to support library programs and events. We accept donations of gently used hard cover and soft cover books, videos, and CDs. The donation box is situated inside the main library’s entrance; for large donations, come to the library’s back door for assistance.
We do not accept: magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, text books more than 5 years old, medical/nursing manuals, or training or company manuals. Please do not donate anything that is soiled, torn or has been in storage.

Choose and/or deliver library materials to homebound and disabled residents. New volunteers are needed and welcome! Call Carol Moniz 650-780-7050 for more information.
