Your invitation to form or join a
Redwood City VERDE Team!
Working Together to Build Community

A Redwood City Verde Team in your neighborhood will help to:

  • Support a student environmental club
  • Bolster your school’s garden program
  • Purchase an energy efficient appliance for your congregation
  • Support City Trees and its urban forest volunteer program
  • Build a stronger neighborhood
  • Save energy, water, and money

Overview
Roles and Responsibilities

As a Redwood City Verde Team Leader you’ll bring together 8 Redwood City households to learn about energy/water conservation, and sign up for a FREE Green@Home House Call. Teams also agree to take action to help reduce energy and water use – and at the same time save money on their utility bills.

Teams that complete the House Calls and other specified actions earn a $250 incentive contribution toward community greening projects (above). As an added encouragement to get the program rolling, the first 10 teams to sign up and complete the program earn an additional $50 incentive ($300 instead of $250)! Just think of what that money could mean to your local school’s environmental program or  garden project, or other qualified community greening program!

Our goal is to get the program going with 10 Teams by June 30th. So the time is NOW to become a Verde Team Leader and start bringing your neighbors together!

Teams must be comprised of Redwood City households. Incentives are contributed toward qualifying environmental programs or activities of neighborhood, community, or faith groups in Redwood City, or such programs at Redwood City School District schools, Woodside, Sequoia, and Redwood High Schools, Sandpiper Elementary School, or a private school in Redwood City.

Redwood City Environmental Initiatives staff will offer assistance with a team meeting location, if needed, present information about Redwood City’s Verde program at one of your team meeting, approve your selected recipient of your team’s incentive contribution, and help celebrate your team’s success.
