Sequoia High Teen Resource Center
The Sequoia Teen Resource Center (STRC) and Wellness Center are co-located on the Sequoia High School (SHS) campus. The STRC staffs the following positions: Site Director, Case Manager, Mental Health Specialist, Youth Development Coordinator and Peer Educators.
The Wellness Center staffs the following positions: Pediatric/Adolescent physician, Nurse Practitioner, nurses, Medical Assistant, Community Health Advocate, Office Manager. This staffing composition enables an integrated model of service that provides a range of supports from youth involvement initiatives to early intervention to crisis management to medical services.
Launched in August 2004, the STRC provides critical health education, mental health counseling, case management, youth leadership opportunities and crisis intervention to high school students. Redwood City Elementary School District’s 8 th graders transitioning into Sequoia High School needing support can begin working with STRC staff the summer before entry.
