CANCELED: Congresswoman Anna Eshoo's Talk
at Redwood City’s Veterans Memorial Senior Center
Redwood City, CA - November 6, 2003 -
Congresswoman Anna Eshoo’s speech scheduled for Thursday,
November 13, 2003 at noon at the Redwood City Veterans Memorial
Senior Center has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Staff at the Senior Center received word today from Congresswoman
Anna Eshoo's office that the House of Representatives will
not adjourn this week, and will be definitely be in session
next week. For this reason Congresswoman Eshoo is required
to be in Washington and is therefore unable to attend the
Senior Center event. No new date has been announced.
The luncheon will still take place in the Redwood Room at
the Veterans Memorial Senior Center, 1455 Madison Avenue in
Redwood City, and the public is invited to attend and participate
in the Senior Affairs Commission meeting immediately following
lunch. Cost of the lunch is $4.50.
This is just one of the educational, informative, and fun
events and activities provided by the Veterans Memorial Senior
Center. With a variety of programs and services including
innovative and creative classes, dinner dances, presentations
by local historians, talks by our elected officials, great
food, information and referral, health and fitness classes
that focus on wellness for free or at a very low cost, the
Center is a great asset to Redwood City.
The Veterans Memorial Senior Center is operated by the Redwood
City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department,
which provides recreational facilities and activities for
all ages and interests, and supplies building and custodial
services for City buildings. Redwood City Parks operates the
Fair Oaks Community Center, providing social, educational,
and cultural activities, as well as information, referral,
and counseling services to persons living in Redwood City
