Redwood City Library Foundation to Host
Special "Latin Flavor" Fundraiser on November 21
Redwood City, CA - November 13, 2003
- Each year, the Redwood City Library Foundation
holds a special fundraiser to help support some of the great
programs that the Redwood City Library provides to the community.
This year, the gala event is entitled “Sabor Latino/Latin
Flavor!” and it takes place on Friday, November 21,
2003, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Redwood City Public Library.
The festive affair features savory south-of- the-border food,
a raffle of luxury items, and guest speaker Rosa Perez, President
of Cañada College. The Foundation’s sister group,
the Friends of the Library, will be selling books and audiovisual
items during the event.
Among the programs that the Foundation fundraiser supports
are the Traveling Story time, the Teen Homework Center, and
Dad and Me @ the Library, all very successful and well-used
programs. One of the Foundation’s current projects is
helping to provide funding for books, videos, CDs, DVDs, and
other Library materials.
This promises to be a fun, exciting, and rewarding event
– the public is invited and encouraged to attend and
take part in helping our community’s library to better
serve the public. Tickets are $45 per person and $400 for
a group of 10. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served
at 6 pm, and a welcome by Foundation Co-Presidents Sandra
Cooperman and Rosanne Foust and an address by Rosa Perez begin
at 8 pm. To get tickets, please call (650) 780-7032.
The Redwood City Public Library offers many free programs
for children, adults, and families, and helps our community
to “understand the past, prepare for the future, and
thrive in the present.” For more information about library
events and services you may access the library’s home
