For Immediate ReleaseRedwood City Parks & Recreation Offers Summer League Basketball for 5th – 9th Graders
Redwood City, CA - May 28, 2003 - Boys and girls in grades 5 through 9 are encouraged to sign up for Redwood City"s Summer League Basketball, and enjoy a fun-filled, action-packed learning and playing experience. The last day for registration is Friday, June 13th, so all interested kids should immediately call 650-780-7335 for a registration form, or pick one up at Red Morton Community Center.
The City offers a 5th and 6th grade co-ed league, and a 7th, 8th, and 9th grade boys" league. League games will be played twice a week from June 16 through July 31st at Red Morton Community Center. The team "draft" will be held on June 16th, followed by a two-week practice/basketball skills clinic. Then, all teams will play 10 games.
Parents looking for a great summer-time activity for their kids should consider this basketball league, which offers not only excellent exercise but also a learning experience in teamwork, cooperation, responsibility, and athletic skills. The cost is $75 per player.
