Redwood City, CA - April 7 , 2004 - The Redwood City Library Foundation presents a wonderful opportunity to help our community library, just by having a meal! Diners are invited to Chevys Fresh Mex Restaurant, 2907 El Camino Real in Redwood City , on Thursday, April 22nd to enjoy a meal of their choice, and Chevys will donate 20% of the price of the meal to the Foundation! The restaurant is open 11 am - 10 pm . A Library Foundation coupon must be presented, and is available at the Library, or from the Library's website at www.redwoodcity.org/library. From its inception in 1999, the Redwood City Library Foundation has successfully raised funds for the Redwood City Public Library, initiating two outstanding programs: Traveling Storytimes, and the Teen Homework Center , and garnering funds to continue the renowned "Dad & Me" reading program.
The Foundation is now actively fundraising for "The Campaign for Books", with a goal of providing funds to purchase books, CDs, DVDs and other high-demand items for all of Redwood City's fine community libraries.
The Redwood City Public Library offers many free programs for children, adults, and families, and helps our community to "understand the past, prepare for the future, and thrive in the present."
