Health Workshops to be Offered in Spanish at Redwood City’s Fair Oaks Library
Redwood City, CA - September 10 , 2004
- In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Fair Oaks Library has scheduled a weekly series of health workshops to be presented in Spanish. These workshops are free and open to the entire community, and are provided in collaboration with El Concilio of San Mateo County-Nuestro Canto de Salud.
The workshops will be held each Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m., from Wednesday, September 15, through Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at Fair Oaks Library, 2510 Middlefield Road. The focus of the eight workshops will be health, with a special emphasis on nutrition.
Fair Oaks Library will feature bibliographies as well as books and library materials available for check out, in support of each week’s topic. Workshops cover such high-interest health issues as: diabetes; heart disease; exercise and health; HIV/AIDS; alcohol and drug use/abuse; and stress management. Presenters are all experts in their field.
