Reading Clubs and Senior Health Lecture Keep Summer Going at Redwood City Library
Redwood City, CA - August 6 , 2004 - Redwood City Public Library continues its four extremely popular Summer Reading Clubs throughout the summer. These Clubs are for 1) Listeners, 2) Readers 3) Parents 4) Teens. Youngsters and parents may sign up and claim their special Reading Rewards through September 4th. Readers choose their own reading selections, complete a reading log, and exchange them for rewards at the Main Library or the Fair Oaks Branch Library.
Readers, Listeners, and Parents who read for 600 minutes receive: a coupon for a free personal-size pizza at Round Table Pizza, a child’s round of miniature golf at Malibu Grand Prix, admission to Redwood Roller Rink, a Giant’s All Star pitcher Jason Schmidt key ring, a discount coupon for Linden Tree book store, and a free paperback. Paperbacks are provided courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
Teen Readers get all that, plus they can claim a $12 gift certificate to Century Theaters for reading six books and writing a brief review of each.
For seniors, the monthly Senior Health Lecture is a great way to learn about the latest health trends, healthy tips, and more. This month, the Senior Health Lecture takes place on August 18th at 10:30 am at the Main Library. Dr. Angela Kraft, MD, discusses the what, how, and why of cataracts. The senior health series is co-sponsored by the library and Kaiser Permanente Redwood City.
