Great Last-Minute Gifts for the Holidays Available from Friends of the Redwood City Public Library
Redwood City, CA - December 16 , 2004 - The Friends of the Redwood City Public Library are working overtime to support the library by stocking their book store full of appealing holiday books, audiotapes, and CDs for all ages. Their store is located inside the downtown Redwood City library at 1044 Middlefield Road and is open during many of the same hours as the library. All proceeds from items sold in the store benefit the library exclusively and are an important source of funding for the library’s programs.
In addition, this year the Friends of the Library are offering a special sale item - a vibrant wall hanging of Christmas scenes, hand-quilted by a member of the Friends. This artistic, original wall hanging has been priced at just $75 and is on view in the library, in the display case adjoining the adult reference area. Anyone interested in purchasing this one-of-a-kind wall hanging may call 364-7009 for more information.
Donations of books and other materials in good condition are always welcome and may be dropped off at the library during open hours. Money from book sales in the Friends book store help fund several library initiatives, including the Summer Reading programs for children, and even the remodeling of the lobby of the downtown library, now in the planning stages.
The Redwood City Public Library sponsors many free programs for children, families, and adults and helps our community to “understand the past, prepare for the future, and thrive in the present.” More information about library events and services is available on the library’s home page at www.redwoodcity.org/library, by calling 780-7026, or by picking up a Library events calendar in any Redwood City library.
