From an Early St. Patrick's Day to a Teen Concert ~ Redwood City Parks , Recreation and Community Services Department Has Something for Everyone in the Month of March
Redwood City, CA - March 11, 2004
- Whether one's taste runs to serious metal thrash music, or perhaps to a nice St. Patrick's Day luncheon, Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services has just the right kind of event!
For those interested in something on the traditional side that's both fun and memorable, the Parks Department offers an "early" St. Patrick's Day luncheon, taking place on Monday, March 15th at the Veteran's Memorial Senior Center , 1455 Madison Avenue in Redwood City from noon to 2 pm . In addition to the traditional St. Patrick's Day feast, there will be great entertainment featuring Irish music and dance, a choir, Irish sing-alongs, and special guest Jim Kason. The cost is only $5, and more information is available by calling 650-780-7270.
Others may prefer the excitement of a concert - for them the Parks Department is hosting a Band Jam, which is fast becoming a regular feature in Redwood City . This one takes place on Friday, March 26 at 8 pm (doors open 7:45 ) at the Fair Oaks Community Center . Featured bands are:

Azura is an all-star band with JC from Lava Bone, as well as the bassist and guitarist from another great band, Clearing Autumn Skies;
Not My Hero, one of the hottest bands in Milpitas visiting Redwood City for this gig.
