Redwood City and Redwood Shores Community Association Sponsor Concert in the Park
Redwood City, CA - July 9, 2004
- An evening of free live music is coming to Marlin Park in Redwood Shores! On Thursday, July 29th from 6 to 8 pm, the Redwood Shores Community Association and the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission present a special concert by Michael John Ahern and Little Wheels.
This six-piece band will be playing arrangements of songs by a selection of great American songwriters including Woodie Guthrie, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Garcia. Graceful harmonies, floating pedal steel, honky-tonk piano and shimmering guitars will combine with our beautiful weather by the bay to make this a special evening in Redwood Shores.
The public is invited to share this evening of free music – bring a picnic basket, lawn chairs, blanket, and of course the kids. There are grassy areas, two playgrounds, and a sandy beach for the whole family to enjoy.
This special show is hosted by the Redwood Shores Community Association, a membership organization which represents the interest of residents and businesses in Redwood Shores in a number of areas including a safe and healthy family environment, responsible growth of property development, and community action, events, activities, and news.
The concert is made possible with a grant from the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission and the participation of BFI, local service clubs, and Redwood City’s Public Works Services and Parks, Recreation and Community Services departments.
