Redwood City's PAL Basketball League Seeking
Redwood City, CA - January 13, 2004
- Redwood City PAL is announcing a great opportunity
to help at-risk kids, and have a great time doing it! Volunteer
coaches are needed for the upcoming season of 6th grade boys
and girls basketball leagues, as part of the Police Activities
League Basketball program.
With a small commitment of time, volunteers can make a significant
difference in the life of the youth of Redwood City. Basketball
games and practices will be held at Red Morton Community Center,
Peninsula Boys and Girls Club, or Garfield School, Monday
through Thursday in the afternoon and early evening. Most
teams will play twice a week, and practice once a week in
between game days. Volunteer coaches must complete a Volunteer
Registration Form and be cleared through a fingerprinting
process. The season runs from January 26th to March 4th.
Volunteering to coach at-risk kids in PAL’s basketball
program helps to make a positive change in someone’s
life – and make a difference in the volunteer coach’s
life as well. Contact Redwood City Police Officer Jamie Mateo
at the number above, or send him an email at email@example.com,
for complete information.
