Redwood City Offers Free Tax Preparation
Services to Seniors
Redwood City, CA - January 30, 2004
- Don’t look now, but the tax season is fast
approaching, and Redwood City wants to make it easier for
seniors. Redwood City’s Veterans Memorial Senior Center
and the American Association of Retired People (AARP) are
sponsoring free tax preparation services for seniors, taking
place each Wednesday from February 4th through April 14th,
2004 at the Senior Center.
It’s part of AARP’s “TCE” program
– Tax Counseling for the Elderly – providing free
tax service to low and middle income seniors with total income
not exceeding $60,000. This service is for typical tax situations.
Tax preparation cannot be provided for those with business
income over $2,500 and not using Schedule CEZ, using alternative
minimum tax, or with income property.
An appointment is necessary in order to take advantage of
this free service for seniors. Please call 650-780-7264 to
schedule an appointment, or for more information.
The Veterans Memorial Senior Center offers a variety of senior
services, including a nutrition program, innovative classes,

and referral, and other healthy and stimulating senior activities
for free or at a very low cost. The Center is operated by
