Pile Driving to Continue This Week at Downtown Retail~Cinema Project Site
Redwood City, CA - January 3 , 2005 - With much of the steel framework for the Downtown Retail-Cinema project now in place, a week’s worth of pile driving is now underway. The pounding that nearby residents and businesses are hearing should be completed by Friday January 7, depending on the weather. While the noise is annoying to people in nearby buildings, the pile driving is a necessary and short-term nuisance. The City apologizes for any disruption or disturbance this activity may cause.
As always throughout this construction project, the City greatly appreciates the patience and understanding of downtown businesses and residents during this activity. As this and other construction activity continues, motorists and pedestrians in the area are asked to exercise additional caution, and to be aware of trucks, equipment, and workers going into and out of the construction site. Appropriate signage will be in place directing motorists of any closures or detours, and notifications will be distributed to downtown businesses and residents to help them cope with this temporary inconvenience.
Anyone with Internet access can view the ongoing work via the City’s new construction project webcam, by visiting www.redwoodcity.org/webcam. This webcam will remain active for the duration of the entire project, from the garage excavation through completion of the retail-cinema project.
Information about the City and its services, the community, recreation programs, education, and City government is also available at the City’s award-winning website, located at www.redwoodcity.org.
