Whipple Avenue Repaving Scheduled for Sunday, November 19th
Redwood City, CA - November 16 , 2006 - As part of its ongoing roadway maintenance program, the City of Redwood City has scheduled repaving of Whipple Avenue between El Camino Real and Veterans Boulevard (approximately one-half a mile). The work is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 19th between the hours of 7:30 am and 6 pm (scheduling is subject to change due to weather or other circumstances).
During this project, there will be periods of time when the roadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction, resulting in possibly significant traffic delays. Motorists are urged to be prepared for traffic delays, and to use alternative routes if possible. All driveway access to residences and businesses will be maintained, and pedestrian access will be provided.
The City’s contractor on this project is distributing notices door-to-door to all of the residents and businesses on this segment of Whipple Avenue, notifying them that this work will be taking place. Additionally, the City sent a general construction notice to all of the affected businesses and residents just prior to the initial preparation phase of this project, in October.
The City appreciates the public’s patience during this work, and apologizes for any inconvenience to motorists and nearby residents and businesses.
