May 24th Budget Input Session Cancelled, Combined into One Community Workshop on May 23rd Only
Redwood City , CA – The City of Redwood City has cancelled the Wednesday, May 24th budget workshop, and combined it into the scheduled Tuesday, May 23rd session. The overall low number of reservations to the two sessions led the City to condense them into one workshop. Participants that have already provided an RSVP to the Wednesday session have been notified of the cancellation and invited to attend the May 23rd workshop instead.
City staff is preparing the proposed 2006-2007 Redwood City budget for City Council consideration next month. Part of that preparation is ensuring that the community has the opportunity to learn about and take a close look at the proposed budget elements - and to offer their own thoughts, ideas, and comments for inclusion in the City Council’s deliberation. The community is invited and encouraged to attend the budget workshop scheduled for:
- Tuesday May 23, 6:00 pm
Fair Oaks Community Center
2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City
At these workshops – which are not Council meetings – community members will enjoy dinner together with City staff before hearing a brief overview of the budget process and then a more in-depth review of the budget options. Then, each table of participants will discuss budget issues and report back to the full group for further discussion. Spanish translation will be provided.
All comments offered by participants will be provided to the City Council as part of its budget deliberation package. The Council will subsequently hold at least two budget study sessions, scheduled for June 19th and June 26th, at which there is yet more opportunity for community input into the adoption of the 2006-2007 budget.
Anyone interested in attending this community workshop on Redwood City’s budget is asked to RSVP to this invitation by calling 780-7300. The workshop is expected to last approximately two hours.
