Council Interviews Candidates; City Manager to Stay Through November
Redwood City, CA - September 17, 2007 – The City Council of Redwood City reports great progress in recruiting and interviewing for the position of city manager, as long-time leader Ed Everett makes plans for his retirement. At the request of the Council, Mr. Everett agreed to remain in his position for two months beyond his original retirement date, to assist during the transition to new leadership. This puts his official retirement at November 25th, 2007.
“We’re very pleased with the tremendously high quality of applicants, and our first round of interviews has been extremely gratifying,” said Redwood City Mayor Barbra Pierce. “It’s great that, as it turns out, Ed is able to stay on board a little longer.”
The Council is currently in the process of interviewing candidates for the position which Mr. Everett has held for over 15 years, and hopes to make its selection within the next several weeks.
