The Blues Takes Center Stage on July 21st at the Second Annual Redwood City PAL Blues Festival
Redwood City, CA - July 10 , 2007 - The fabulous FREE Redwood City PAL Blues Festival returns to downtown Redwood City for its second spectacular year, as a benefit for the Redwood City Police Activities League (PAL)! The community is invited to join friends, family, neighbors, and other music lovers for a marathon of outstanding blues artists, on Saturday, July 21st, from noon until 7 pm at Courthouse Square in Downtown Redwood City. This year’s event features six great blues bands, food and beverage vendors, arts & crafts, a fabulous car show, and a fantastic children’s entertainment area. There is something for everyone in the family at this year’s festival!
Music & Entertainment - Performing on the main stage will be six big-name blues bands: the energetic performance of J.C.Smith; the smooth harmonies of Nitecry; the hard-driving boogie music of Daniel Castro; the authentic soundsof the Jackie Payne – Steve Edmonson Band; the masterfulguitar work of Steve Freund; and the living legend himself, Mr. Joe Lewis Walker.
Arts & Crafts – A variety of vendors will be selling handcrafted items, includingmen’s and women’s clothing, home décor and gifts, jewelry, gourmet olive oil blends,balsamic vinegars and grilling sauces, sunglasses, ornaments, candles, lamps, frames, and more.
Food & Drink – Great food will be available from a wide range of eateries, including New Kapadokia, D&D BBQ, Flaming Fresco, Big Dawgs,and Hawaiian Shaved Ice – and it’s easy to visit the many local Redwood City establishments within walking distance from the main event.An array of wines, beers, soft drinks and water will be available as well; all proceeds from beverage sales will go to support PAL programs.
Kids’ Stage - Sponsored by Let’s Talk Events, this special Kids’ Stage will feature local RedwoodCity community youth groups including the Rebel Elite CompetitiveCheer and Dance Gym.
Kids’ Playland - Jumpers,arts & crafts, games, and face painting, along withpopcorn and snow cones, will captivate kids in this action-packed Kids Playland sponsored by Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.
