Redwood City Offering FREE WaterWise Spring Gardening Workshops -
Learn to Save Water While Keeping Beautiful Gardens and Landscaping
Redwood City, CA - February 12, 2007 - Redwood City invites the community to attend FREE Spring Gardening Workshops this March and April; the workshops will be held at the Redwood City Council Chambers, located at 1017 Middlefield Road, in Redwood City. For anyone with a garden, landscaping, or sprinkler systems, and an interest in maintaining beautiful landscaping while saving water and money, these “WaterWise” workshops are a must!
Interested community members can register online, or call 780-7436 to reserve their place for one or more of these fun and informative workshops:
- Saturday, March 17 (9 am – noon)
Drought Tolerant Plants
Participants will learn the importance of using low-water-use and drought-tolerant plants in their garden, and will become familiar with successful trees, shrubs and groundcovers that are well-suited for Redwood City gardens.
- Saturday, March 24 (9 am – noon)
Irrigation Scheduling & Maintenance
How much water is enough...or too much? Participants will learn an easy method to develop water schedules for a variety of gardens, as well as practical guidelines for the maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Saturday, April 7 (9 am – noon)
Garden Design
This session provides information on the importance of implementing an overall garden design program when installing or renovating a garden. It’s an excellent course for homeowners looking for ideas to improve their garden, with water efficiency in mind.
- Thursday, April 19 (6 pm – 9 pm)
Drought Tolerant Plants
This is an evening repeat of the March 17 session.
- Thursday, April 26 (6 pm – 9 pm)
Irrigation Scheduling & Maintenance
This is an evening repeat of the March 24 session.
