Recycle Old Tires for FREE in Redwood City on December 1st from 9 am – 2 pm
Redwood City, CA - November 19th, 2007 - The County of San Mateo, in cooperation with Redwood City, is hosting a FREE tire recycling event – it’s the perfect opportunity to make sure that old tires are kept out of the landfill, and are disposed of properly.
Recycled tires are put to good use as part of playground surfaces, or mixed with asphalt for roadway surfaces, and can be used in a variety of plastic and rubberized products.
This special tire recycling event is available to any resident of San Mateo County. All tires brought in must be accompanied by a special voucher available online here or at www.recycleworks.org. Each voucher may be used to recycle up to four passenger car tires – multiple vouchers may be used. To recycle 10 or more tires, call 650-363-4305. This program is funded by a Grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board.
