Training materials and instruction are provided by the Redwood City Fire Department. The success of Redwood City’s disaster preparedness program depends on neighbors throughout the community learning how to help themselves, their families, and one another in the event of an emergency. Redwood City urges neighbors to become a part of this citizen-based disaster response team, and to encourage friends and neighbors to become involved. For those wishing a more intensive, in-depth training in disaster preparedness, the City offers its Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, a 20-hour series of classes currently offered once a year. Information on CERT is also available online.
