Call for Artists to Submit Art for Exhibits at the Redwood City Public Library
Redwood City, CA - January 8, 2008 – The Redwood City Public Library Art Exhibit Jury of Selection invites local artists to submit their work to be considered for exhibit at the Downtown Library. The art jury will be choosing a variety of works to be displayed for two-month periods between March 2008 and January 2010.
The number of artists to be displayed is limited Artists must live within Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood City, Atherton, Menlo Park, Woodside, or Portola Valley, or be a member of the Sequoia Art Group to be eligible for consideration. The art jury process is hosted by the Sequoia Art Group.
All interested artists should bring two to three samples of their best work to the Gold Star Room of the Veterans Memorial Senior Center, 1455 Madison Avenue in Redwood City, on Friday, January 25, 2008at7 pm. Representatives of the Library Board of Trustees and the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission will comprise the art jury.
All art must be easily wall hung, such as paintings, photographs, textiles, or drawings, and must be framed, mounted, and wired to hang. Pictures should be at least 16” x 20”, but no more than 32” x 40”, including frame. All art work must have atag with the artist’s name, address, and telephone number attached. All art must be picked up at 9 pm that evening.
Artists will be informed that evening if their art is accepted, and if accepted, they will be notified by mail of the exhibit schedule. For more information, call Catherine Delfs at (650) 369-6456.
