NOTE: The dates of the Chesapeake Drive closure at Seaport Boulevard have been changed - new dates are August 22 and 23
Redwood City, CA - July 27, 2009 - Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) is currently performing major maintenance work on their tracks adjacent to Seaport Boulevard. UPRR has informed Redwood City that in order to rebuild the tracks where they cross Chesapeake Drive, Chesapeake must be entirely closed for at least one full weekend, and possibly two weekends. The Redwood City Public Works Services Department is coordinating the road closure and detour, which impacts the Seaport Centre office complex.
- When: Saturday and Sunday, August 22-23, for 24 hours a day (dates may change depending on conditions)
- Where: Chesapeake Drive CLOSED at Seaport Boulevard
- Detour: Traffic from Seaport Boulevard wishing to turn onto Chesapeake will be detoured to an access road approximately 500 feet south of Chesapeake, through a parking lot and onto Galveston Drive or Penobscot Drive; motorists are advised to observe all detour signage
The City of Redwood City and Union Pacific Railroad apologize for any inconvenience that this road closure and detour may cause. For questions about the track improvement project, contact Union Pacific Railroad at 916-789-5957. If you have questions about the road closure and detour please contact the Redwood City Public Works Services Department at 780-7464.
