Redwood City Unveils Online "Economic Indicators Dashboard"
Redwood City, CA - August 30, 2012 - With a sharp focus on economic development, the City of Redwood City has created a useful new online tool - an Economic Indicators Dashboard, located on the City's website at www.redwoodcity.org/eddashboard.
This new set of web pages will be of enormous value to anyone interested in or needing information on the economic conditions in Redwood City - business site selectors, builders, and developers, as well as local businesses and residents. "At-a-glance" key economic information on the site includes: commercial building data and links; value of building permits issued; sales tax by business segment and business district; top sales tax generators; top private employers; economic news related to Redwood City; and more.
The Economic Indicators Dashboard is a dynamic source of valuable information. A feedback page is included, offering the opportunity for users to tell the City what kinds of additional information they'd like to see there, and what types of new businesses they feel would be a valuable addition to Redwood City. The Dashboard will be updated as new information becomes available and new data points are developed.
"This Dashboard is so straightforward and user-friendly, yet it provides a great deal of valuable information that businesses will find indispensable," said Bob Bell, City Manager of Redwood City. "We worked with Vice Mayor Gee and Councilmembers Foust and Ira of the Mayor's economic development subcommittee to create this easy-to-use tool, and I think residents will be interested in seeing where the City's revenues come from - which in turn are used to provide the City services they use."
Already the City's new Economic Indicators Dashboard is gaining new users in the business community. Lawrence K. Buckmaster, President and CEO of the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce, said, "Redwood City is really providing an innovative and cutting-edge tool that will help to make good business decisions. Their Dashboard offers a quick and easy way to get some important data points and keep up to date with the economics of the area."
The Redwood City Economic Indicators Dashboard is online now at www.redwoodcity.org/eddashboard.
