Redwood City Police Department Invites Community to Join Officers for “Coffee with the Cops”
UPDATE: two new dates added! Jump to all dates below.
Redwood City, CA - In another innovation to further engage with the public, the Redwood City Police Department is inviting community members to join police staff for “Coffee with the Cops.” This pilot program brings officers and sergeants to a series of sit-down visits at local coffee shops, to meet and talk with neighbors. It’s a great opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn about police programs and efforts in their neighborhoods.
There won’t be any formal presentations – neighbors are invited to drop in any time during the 90 minutes that police staff are there, to chat with an officer who patrols that area. Community members can discuss and learn about neighborhood issues, traffic concerns, crime prevention, and how to get connected to all the great social media and other technological tools the Department uses to communicate with the community, and to help the public access information and assistance.
There are five” Coffee with the Cops” events scheduled, each in a different area of the City. Neighbors are invited to attend the one in their own area, but anyone is welcome and encouraged to attend any of these informal get-togethers:
- Summit Coffee Shop, 2137 Roosevelt Avenue (in Roosevelt Plaza)
Thursday, October 18th - 8 to 9:30 am
