Update: Fire at Sims Metal, Redwood City Extinguished
The Air Quality Alert Has Been Lifted for Impacted Counties
Redwood City, Calif. - The Redwood City Fire Department fully extinguished a 2-alarm fire at Sims Metal - a metal recycling facility located at 699 Seaport Boulevard in Redwood City. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There are no known injuries or fatalities.
The air quality alert/advisory has been lifted for residents living in south San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, and south Alameda County. Seaport Boulevard has also been opened.
