Biography of Peter Ingram
Peter Ingram was appointed as City Manager of Redwood City on June 9, 2008, after seven months as the interim city manager, and numerous assignments as Assistant City Manager, on a rotational basis.
He brings a great deal of executive management experience to the position, having served as director of the City’s Community Development Services department for a year-and-a-half, and as the Public Works Services director for 14 years.
Before coming to Redwood City, Peter worked for the City of Richmond as the Deputy Public Works Director, and earlier as Public Works Superintendent. He was also a private-sector project manager for several major public works projects in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Peter has a
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) from the University of Oregon, and is affiliated with a number of professional organizations, including:
- Bay Area Water Users Association
(Board member and officer 1997 to 2003)
- Bay Area Water Supply & Conservation Agency
(Technical Advisory Committee member 2003 to 2006)
- WateReuse Association, Northern California Chapter
(President 2004 to 2006, and Vice President 2002 to 2004)
Mr. Ingram and his spouse Yvette Pirie are 13-year residents of Redwood City.
